Full-Day Wahiba Sands Desert Safari & Wadi Bani Khalid Tour from Muscat

Your adventure begins at 8:30 a.m. with a private 4WD pick-up from your hotel or home. The journey takes you through the historic towns of Ibra, Al Qabil, and Bidiyah. Ibra, one of the oldest cities in Oman, was once a thriving hub of trade, religion, education, and art, and still carries echoes of its vibrant past.

The drive continues to the golden expanse of Wahiba Sands, where towering dunes rise as high as 300 feet. Here you will experience the thrill of dune bashing with your expert driver-guide, followed by a short break to enjoy refreshments and capture memorable photographs in the desert setting.

From the desert, the route leads you through the Al Hajar Mountains to reach the stunning oasis of Wadi Bani Khalid, renowned for its year-round flowing springs and lush date palms. You will have time to explore the wadi’s turquoise pools and, if you wish, take a refreshing swim in its crystal-clear waters. For the adventurous, an optional visit to Muqal Cave at the narrow end of the wadi can also be arranged.

A picnic-style lunch will be served in this beautiful natural setting, allowing you to relax and take in the scenery before beginning your return journey. The day concludes with a comfortable drive back to Muscat, where you will be dropped off at your hotel by around 5:00 pm.
