Start with Memphis, the first capital of ancient Egypt after the unification of Upper and Lower Egypt. Now an open-air museum, Memphis features remarkable monuments including the Colossal Statue of Ramses II and the Alabaster Sphinx, once part of the Temple of Ptah.
Continue to Saqqara, home to the Step Pyramid of King Djoser, the oldest stone structure in the world and a major milestone in pyramid construction. Saqqara also includes the Pyramid of Unas, known for its Pyramid Texts—the earliest known religious inscriptions—as well as beautifully decorated mastaba tombs depicting scenes of daily life and religious rituals.
End the tour at Dahshur, where you'll visit the Red Pyramid and the unique Bent Pyramid, both built by Pharaoh Sneferu and showcasing the evolution of pyramid architecture.
