Siwa Oasis, the most secluded among the Western Desert’s oases, remained off-limits for nearly two decades, with strict travel restrictions in place. It wasn’t until the 1980s that these constraints were finally lifted. This oasis is truly one-of-a-kind, boasting its own set of customs and a rich history, much of which is documented in the secretive Siwan Manuscript, an archive inaccessible to outsiders.
Situated at the farthest reach of Egyptian depressions from the fertile Nile Valley, some sections of the oasis rest a remarkable 60 meters below sea level. To the south of the oasis, one can witness the onset of the awe-inspiring Great Sand Sea, a vast expanse of desert dunes.
Siwa Oasis bears the imprints of civilization dating back to the time of the pharaohs, followed by influences from the Greeks and Romans, Persians, and various North African societies. This historical tapestry only adds to the oasis’s mystique.

The second day takes you on a Land Cruiser expedition into the Great Sand Sea, visiting the mesmerizing Cold Lake at Beir Wahd, while the evening treats you to a memorable desert sunset. Day three explores Siwa’s history with visits to El-Mawta Mountain, the Alexander the Great Temple, and the legendary Ain Cleopatra, all punctuated with a delightful lunch before your return to Cairo. Expect a diverse, captivating journey blending history, natural beauty, and culinary delights.
Meet our tour guide and pick up at 5:00 a.m. as we embark on an 800-kilometer drive to Siwa Oasis along the Alex Matroh Road. En route, we’ll make a stop at the El Alamein War Cemetery. By approximately 2:30 p.m., we’ll arrive at Siwa Oasis, where you can savor a delectable lunch at Abdo Restaurant, one of the most famous restaurants in siwa oasis. Following this, you’ll check in at your hotel around 3:30 p.m. Later, prepare for a delightful dinner at Albabenshal and visit the downtown before returning to your comfortable hotel accommodations.
Breakfast at 8:00 a.m. before embarking on an exciting over-day safari adventure in Siwa Oasis at 9:00 a.m. Climb into the Land Cruiser and set off on an exhilarating journey into the vast expanse of the Great Sand Sea, where off-roading thrills await. Along the way, visit to Beir Wahd, where you can revel in the beauty of the Cold Lake, and indulge in a picnic lunch, As the sun descends, bask in the serenity of a mesmerizing desert sunset amidst the rolling sand dunes. Return to your hotel in the evening to freshen up before savoring a delicious local Siwin meal for dinner, capping off the day’s adventures at the Hotel.
